Membership
in Sons of Norway, Morgensolen Lodge, is available to anyone who has an interest
in the culture, history, traditions, heritage
and
folklore
of Norway
and the Norwegian people. We have several members who are of other Scandinavian
descent. We have several spousal members who are married to Scandinavians.
And we have several non-Scandinavians as well. Regardless of your heritage,
all we request is that you have an interest in Norway and would like to participate
in our lodge's activities.
If you are not sure about us, please study this website and try
to come to one of our meetings or to our annual Nordicfest. Our annual Julefest
(Christmas Festival) is also a special time for our lodge and we would love
to have you as our guest.
To sign up for membership in Morgensolen, we prefer that you
contact our Vice President, Paul French,
and he will see that a membership application is mailed to you. Some of the
benefits of membership include:
- make new friends;
- learn more about the culture and traditions of Norway and Scandinavia;
- subscription to Viking Magazine;
- subscription to Morgensolen's Nyheter;
- low rate insurance available;
- investment and retirement planning available;
- discounts on travel to Scandinavia;
- scholarship availability to member's children and grandchildren;
- the enjoyment of helping others;
- good food and fraternalism at lodge meetings;
- meet others with similar interests.
Current annual membership fees are:
- Regular...........................................................$30
- Spouse...........................................................$25
- Heritage (age 8-15)........................................Free
- Sons of Norway Youth Club (age 16-21)........$10
The above dues are for membership in the International Sons of Norway. There
are no additional dues from Morgensolen.
